About the Business
From his shop in Mayfair, Robert Felton became London's leading florist. He demonstrated his impressive floral artistry at many state occasions and prestigious events of the time. He was even asked to attend the British Embassy in Berlin for the visit of His Majesty King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. More recently Feltons Florists have provided the backdrop for many a state occasion including when Mrs. Thatcher entertained President Reagan, and of course the funeral of Diana Princess of Wales.
In 1994 when Canary Wharf was an empty shell with an air of uncertainty about it, Richard had a feeling about its future and snapped up one of the retail leases. 10 years (and three shops) later Canary Wharf is a thriving business mall with direct links via the Jubilee Line. And Feltons Florists are still the only flower shop in Canary Wharf with their design and production unit close at hand. In 2004 Richard Felton was immortalised in caricature form for the book People of the Day.
